Spokane Authors and Self-Publishers meets the first Thursday of each month at 2:00 p.m. at the Golden Corral restaurant, 7117 North Division, Spokane, Washington.

October 5, 2017

Our October guest speaker will be Bill Bancroft.  Bill has been a professional musician for over 46 years. He plays drums and percussion, sings backing vocals, and has done some song writing as well. He played in numerous “bar bands” throughout the years, and toured extensively with national famous acts within the genres of country, rock and blues.

He spent time in the corporate world, rising to Vice President in a Spokane, Washington bank. Bill has also done stints as director for projects all over the United States, and additionally in England, Mexico, China and Poland.

Upon retirement from corporate life, Bill returned to playing music full time. He divides his time between the Spokane-based Bobby Patterson Band  and filling in for other bands as needed for shows, tours, and recordings.

He is also an actor and has a reoccurring role as “Billionaire #2” for the nationally syndicated Spokane-based sci-fi show Z-Nation. Bill  was also a principle in the independent film Checkers. In addition, he has modeled for various photo shoots, as Henry the Eighth, Mr. Green (from the Clue game), Gangster and many others.

Bill decided to make a foray into recounting his memories from all his years on the road as a musician. He tells the story of how a seemingly inconsequential young boy from Greenacres, Washington, made his way to sharing the stage with incredible musicians and famous stars.

Bill Bancroft is happily married to Sue, with five grown children, eight grandchildren, and two more grandchildren on the way.
