A new day, meeting location, and name

Spokane Authors & Self-Publishers, founded in 1998 as a club for writers to share experiences and ideas about alternative publishing avenues and the writing process. Since then, the group has evolved, with members not only from the self-publishing arena, but also those involved with traditional and hybrid publishing. Other members include artists, editors, marketing gurus, and designers (both interior and cover). We pool our knowledge and skills and encourage each other, and have decided to change the name of the group to simply “Spokane Authors.”

Our website has always been spokaneauthors.org, and we will continue to keep that name and domain. We have come up with a new logo:

We have also found a new day and home for our regular monthly meeting at Sans Souci West mobile home park, 3231 W. Boone Ave, Spokane, Washington, USA, on the second Friday of each month beginning at 2:00 p.m., and have added a meeting on the third Saturday of each month in the basement of the social hall of St. Frances of Assissi, 1104 W. Heroy Ave., also in Spokane, and also beginning at 2:00 p.m.

From the opening back up of in-person meetings after the COVID 19 shutdown, we have grown in attendance from a sparse eight to over 30 at our September, 2024, meeting at Sans Souci West.

In addition to the web page, the group has a Facebook page, and has been active in craft fairs and other events in the Spokane area. Come visit in person if you live in our area, and check out our web page and Facebook page.
